a quatern
– for the wild joy of having lived
is a greater blessing than most
(if only we would believe it).
I want to think this could be true,
that divinity flows, purely
for the wild joy of having lived,
with no other purpose but to
share the grace of imperfection.
come the end of my days I know
I would give almost anything
for the wild joy of having lived –
in retrospect, that’s all there is.
and so, my friend, I ask you this –
even after eternity,
will you laugh with me, if only
for the wild joy of having lived?
